Nestled among the mountains between Laurel and Fuller Lakes, Camp Thompson has provided over a century of outdoor fun and enrichment for kids ages 6-14. With activities like archery, canoeing, hiking, arts & crafts, and more, campers will make memories that last a lifetime.
Camp Thompson offers a wide variety of programs to match your child’s interests and comfort level, from day trips to week-long overnight adventures. Our experienced staff ensurecampers feel welcome and have the support they need to try new things.
For younger campers or those new to overnight camping, our day camps allow them to experience the magic of Camp Thompson during fun-filled day trips.
Ready, Set, Camp ( ages 4-5)
Campers spend most of the day at the Carlisle YMCA facility working on prek skills and then combining their own lesson plans with walks to local parks, the library, and other nearby attractions. Activities include joining YADC for field trips and swimming (M,T,TH). Offered in 9 one-week sessions from June 9 to August 16.
Youth Adventure Day Camp (ages 6-8)
Campers spend most of the day at the Carlisle YMCA facility, with walks to local parks, the library, and other nearby attractions. Activities include arts & crafts, swimming, games, and more. Offered in 9 one-week sessions from June 9 to August 16.
New Frontiers Day Camp (ages 9-12)
Each day, campers travel by bus to our 100-acre Y’s Men and Women’s Club farm for outdoor exploration and environmental education activities. Weekly themes and field trips match interests like sports, animals, and nature. Offered in 9 one-week sessions from June 9 to August 16.
Camp Thompson Day Camp (ages 6-12)
This year there is only 1 option -for Camp Thompson Day Camp and the activities we have including canoeing, archery, kayaking, and more! Transportation is provided to and from the Carlisle YMCA. Offered June 30th July 2nd 2025. No camp July 3 and 4th.
After Dark* only offered one night during Camp Thompson Day Camp July 2-3rd ( *additional fee)
For campers ages 7-14 looking for an immersive overnight experience, our resident camps allow them to sleep in cabins and fully embrace camp life.
Programming includes swimming, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, team building on the Alpine Tower, and fun traditions like Color Wars and Polar Bear Plunges. Expert counselors ensure first-time campers feel safe and welcomed. Offered in 4 one-week sessions from July 6 to August 1.
